Common questions
I've put the wrong fuel in. What should I do?
Don't start the engine. If you haven't started it, don't switch the ignition on either. If you've already started it, stop as soon as it's safe and switch off. Then call us. Running the engine on the wrong fuel can cause expensive damage, so the less it runs the better.
Can I drive to a garage?
No. Driving moves the wrong fuel through the fuel system. If it's safe, leave the vehicle where it is and call us.
Can I drain the tank myself?
We wouldn't advise it. Fuel is flammable and its vapour is a fire risk, and the job needs the right equipment to be done safely.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your vehicle and where you are. We confirm the full price on the call before sending anyone, so there are no surprises.
What if I'm on a motorway?
Leave by the passenger door, wait behind the barrier and call us. If you're stuck in a live lane, keep your seatbelt on, hazard lights on, and call 999 first.
Can you help if I don't have breakdown cover?
Yes. We're a pay-per-job service, so you don't need cover or a membership. Call us and we'll agree the price before anyone is sent.
